Matt Gerlach - branding and web design case study
Matt Gerlach is the Founder & CEO of Rise to Your Worth, a Strategic Growth Consultancy dedicated to helping executives and high achievers unlock their true potential. With a focus on healing, fulfillment, self-discovery, and releasing what no longer serves them, Matt meets his clients at the intersection of business and life. Having faced trauma and adversity himself, Matt understands the struggles his clients endure and uses his own journey of healing and self-discovery to guide others in breaking free from limiting beliefs and burdens.
Matt offers a combination of coaching, business strategy, and mindset work to help individuals who feel successful on the outside but unfulfilled internally.
In addition to running his $1M/year growth mentorship firm, Matt hosts the podcast “MATTers of the Mind: Rise to Your Worth,” sharing practical tools for self-discovery, growth, and mastery.

Matt Gerlach’s goal was to create a friendly, reassuring, and professional brand. He wanted the design to embody his core values: vulnerability, empathy, compassion and generosity (abundance) and create feelings of kindness, warmth and trustworhiness. .
Matt needed a website that would help him:
- position himself as a thought leader in transformational coaching.
- grow a successful coaching business through premium services.
- scale his brand through content (blog, podcast, newsletter etc.) to reach a broader audience.
Project goals
The "before"
Matt is an ambitious businessman who understands the significant impact online presence has on our success.
Before we worked together, his biggest challenge was building a website that truly met his expectations without having to settle.
“I guess for me the biggest thing would be branding though – I knew we could fix the site and make it functionally what I wanted, but I wanted the branding to look good and flow nicely and I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. I know I didn’t have a super robust photo library and they were leveraged flawlessly.”

The "after"
Matt Gerlach: branding and WordPress website design
Colors & gradients
I chose soft and navy blue to create impression of stability and professionalism and combined it with yellow & pink accents to add feelings ot optimism, energy and approachability.
On top of that I used different combinations of gradients to emphasize Matt’s focus on growth, transformation and connection.
Fonts
I chose combination of Raleway font family in different weighs and styles.
Raleway font is modern and clear. It’s legible and simple, yet personable and stylish.
It complements the logo and emits harmony and peace thanks to its roundish, affable demeanor.
Logos & brand mark
The Primary logo
With this concept, I wanted to create an emotion of serenity and safety. Round and regular lines reinforce the feeling of peace, and harmony. The font is simple and minimal and brings feelings of tranquility and space. The design embodies the core values of the brand: vulnerability, empathy/compassion and generosity (abundance).
The secondary logo is perfect for cases where a horizontal shape is needed, like the header for her email newsletters.
The brand mark can be used as a decorative element in promotional brochures, teaching materials, and social media posts. It’s also being used as a favicon.

Brandmark
Matt Gerlach’s website successfully blends trust, warmth, and transformation. The choice of blues for stability, yellows for encouragement, elegant typography, and approachable imagery together with clean and user-friendly layout makes his online presence feel both expert-led and personally inviting.
By building a clear user journey that starts from connecting with his audience, presenting offerings as a solution, to booking a call, I ensured the website encourages only good-fit clients to connect with Matt.
The completed website was built on WordPress combined with Elementor Pro plugin and is made up of the following elements:
- 1. Core pages: Homepage, about page, contact page
- 2. Sales page
- 3. Lead magnet pop up and Opt in page
- 4. Blog with 3 categories of posts
- 5. Google Analytics and Google Search Console integration
- 6. Elements required by law: Privacy Policy and Cookie Banner

"I love it. And, I'm picky."
“I love branding and that I didn’t have to settle. Things like the gradient, or the button functionality – I was expecting you to tell me “this is the best I could do” and to have to settle and I’m not settle for anything. I love it. And, I’m picky. :)
